Alliance president warns of cuts to Civic Center funding

The South County Civic Center in Delray Beach may face budget cuts, but groups that pay to use the facility haven’t been informed, and county officials have not commented on concerns raised by Robert Schulbaum, president of the Alliance of Delray Residential Associations, that cuts are coming and that they will hurt organizations that use the facility.

Shirley Jacobs noticed that an aging population didn’t have the monthly means at certain times of the year to feed their friendly felines and chow-hungry canines so she set up a drop-off and pick-up plan at two area Publixs and the Caring Kitchen. She even recently sent off 125 pounds of dog and cat food to earthquake-ravaged Haiti. Jacobs started Prevent Euthanasia To Dogs Or Cats Society, an organization that needs the community’s help with “no-kill solutions.”
