Couple helps owners feed their pets during tough times

Shirley Jacobs noticed that an aging population didn’t have the monthly means at certain times of the year to feed their friendly felines and chow-hungry canines so she set up a drop-off and pick-up plan at two area Publixs and the Caring Kitchen. She even recently sent off 125 pounds of dog and cat food to earthquake-ravaged Haiti. Jacobs started Prevent Euthanasia To Dogs Or Cats Society, an organization that needs the community’s help with “no-kill solutions.”
