If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I put that down as my attended major because i thought it would be a rare major and it would be easier to get into the school.
Was that a smart choice?

Open Question: Need a name for my humanities class.?

January 13th, 2010 -- Posted in Florida | No Comments »

We were told to pick a known name for class. My teacher is Ringo Starr, you know, from the Beatles. I’m a girl and would prefer a female name, but something interesting. I’ve thought about Greek goddesses, 90’s cartoons (I was born in the 90’s just seemed to fit), other singers, but just can’t seem to find something I like. I don’t want anything like Amelia Earhart or Rosa Parks, something…differernt. Thanks for the help. Oh, just for extra help I am a 18 year old female from Florida, my name is Rebeccah and I enjoy art and reading. Thanks again.

Open Question: Help me with my situation?

January 13th, 2010 -- Posted in Florida | No Comments »

I have a couple of questions that regard my life and how i live with it. First, i have intensive classes. If i mention that i even have intensive classes they make fun of me. The reason for this isn’t grades at all. Its the friggin Fcat that F’s me over. I live in Florida by the way. Right now, i have all B’s and one C. Its the Fcat that gets me these classes. Every time it comes up i’m either tired as hell, or i become tired as i read through the questions. I have failed the Fcat every single time. I’m in 10th grade and it starts at 3rd grade. So calculate that up. But thats just one problem.

Next, is i’m a Hardcore gamer As society calls it. But i play video games All the time. Its either my guitar, video games, or computer. Thats all i do when i get home. And its really not a problem for me to be frank. The question i ask of this is, Am i the only one with this routine?

And Last, I like this girl at school and shes way to beautiful for me. I feel as if i’m to ugly to date her. I have some acne and i’m so paranoid about it. I bring my Ipod to school just so i can look at myself in the screen so i can see if it looks bad. I do this excessively. But this girl is one of the populars. I see her with guys and girls. But i’m just one of the kids that doesnt talk to much people and trys to live in a small environment. Socially wise. But what i ask of all of you with all of this is, Am i a weirdo? Am i stupid? Whats wrong with me. Am i the only one? I’m 15. And i’m in need of help.
Also, i don’t study for exams. I feel as if i’m passing and i know if i fail it and i still will pass, theres no need to worry about it.

Open Question: How do northerners dress in the harsh winter weather?

January 13th, 2010 -- Posted in Florida | No Comments »

What are the different clothes, shoes, scarfs, gloves, layers, etc… that you wear to keep warm when it is VERY COLD outside?

This might sound a bit odd, but I have lived in Florida all my life and have never even seen snow. I might be moving north, Minnesota this summer, and have no idea what clothing would keep a person warm from some of the crazy temperatures I keep seeing in that area this winter, like -10?
I’m aware that a person would need a very warm jacket and some gloves, but I really don’t know too much about the subject.
Thank you to everyone who answers!

Open Question: What is the best tactic for negotiating the salary you want during an interview?

January 13th, 2010 -- Posted in Florida | No Comments »

In my first management position I was 24 years old and did not know anything about negotiating my management salary and was thrilled at the idea of making 40,000 a year. Come to find out that in the D.C. area other similar companies paid 50,000 a year for my same position- restaurant management. I was given my first position with no experience and no education just 5 years of excelling at my job. I hve since left that company and now have a family. S,o my pay scale this time around is much more important to me as I now have responsibilities. I have also just moved from Florida to California and know that the cost of living here is much higher and we had no state taxes being deducted. I do not want to end up in the same situation I did before where my pay was lost to cost of living in an expensive, high tax, area. What should I be asking for and what is the best way to ensure I get it. I have 12 years restaurant experience, non-business related college, but college nonetheless, and management experience all in my favor.
